Suresh Raina shared a photo with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain MS Dhoni and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja on Instagram on Sunday, and fans dubbed it the “pic of the day.” The photo shows all three stars in the dressing room, each striking the same pose. Raina has returned to the squad since withdrawing from the IPL 2020 due to personal reasons, and has been involved on social media, giving his followers an insight into his preparations ahead of the tournament, which begins on April 9. Despite skipping the entire season last year, Raina remains the tournament’s second most prolific batsman, behind only Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain Virat Kohli.
CSK lost a lot last year without Raina and had their worst-ever season, placing seventh in the eight-team table with 12 points. The three-time champions have struggled to qualify for the playoffs for the first time in IPL history.
CSK were among the first teams to launch their preparations for the 14th edition of the IPL, with skipper MS Dhoni leading the way.
Raina and Jadeja have been crucial cogs for CSK in the cash-rich league, and the franchise will be hoping that they will repeat their success this year and lead them to another championship.
CSK will play last year’s runners-up Delhi Capitals in their first match on April 10 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Apart from their first match, CSK will play four more games in Mumbai before heading to Delhi for their final four games.
Their next four games will be played at Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium, before they end their league campaign with two games at Kolkata’s famous Eden Gardens.
