IPL 2021 : Here’s How Captain MS Dhoni Greeted the CSK “Freshers” in the Team.

After a poor performance in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have brought in some new faces to bolster the squad ahead of the upcoming season of the marquee tournament. Since last season, CSK has added seven new players to their roster. They bought Moeen Ali, Krishnappa Gowtham, Cheteshwar Pujara, C Hari Nishanth, Harishankar Reddy, and K Bhagath Varma at the mini-auction ahead of IPL 2021, while also signing Robin Uthappa from Rajasthan Royals.

CSK posted photos of captain MS Dhoni greeting their latest signings and handing them their jerseys on Wednesday.

“We’re putting our paws together to welcome the #SuperFam’s newest members!” The post was captioned by CSK.

As they give out the jerseys to the new members of the squad, Dhoni is assisted by head coach Stephen Fleming.

Gowtham, who was the most expensive uncapped Indian in IPL history when CSK paid Rs 9.25 crore for him, was given jersey no. 79, while Cheteshwar Pujara, who is returning to the IPL for the first time since 2014, was given jersey no. 25.

The number 77 will be worn on Robin Uthappa’s jersey.

CSK was the first team to be eliminated from consideration for IPL 2020 qualifying spots, finishing seventh overall.

They’ll be looking to put last year behind them and win their fourth championship.

On April 10, CSK will face Delhi Capitals at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai to begin their season.

The IPL 2021 season begins on April 9 in Chennai, with the defending champions Mumbai Indians taking on Royal Challengers Bangalore.
