IPL 2021 : In Mumbai, KL Rahul joins the Punjab Kings team

KL Rahul, the captain of the Punjab Kings, arrived in Mumbai with the rest of the team.

On Friday, KL Rahul arrived in Mumbai with the rest of the Punjab Kings squad ahead of the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) season. Last season, the Punjab Kings skipper was in blistering form, and the Punjab-based franchise will be hoping for a repeat performance in the 14th edition of the IPL. Last year, KL Rahul won the Orange Cap after scoring 670 runs in 14 games, including one century and five half-centuries. Punjab Kings captioned the picture, “The most important part of #SaddaSquad is here Tuhadda swagat hai, #CaptainPunjab #SaddaPunjab #IPL2021 #PunjabKings.”

Punjab finished sixth on the points table after the league stages last year after losing a few close matches.

On April 12, Punjab Kings will kick off their IPL 2021 campaign against Rajasthan Royals at Mumbai’s iconic Wankhede Stadium.

Punjab Kings batting coach Wasim Jaffer said ahead of the season that KL Rahul will take an aggressive approach in the IPL 2021.

“Last season, KL batted cautiously. Since there wasn’t much batting after No. 5, and Glenn Maxwell wasn’t firing, he probably batted deeper “Jaffer told the Times of India, according to the Punjab Kings website.

“He took it upon himself to sit at the crease and finish the task. Everyone will undoubtedly see a more violent KL Rahul this time around “Jaffer had said previously.

In the Twenty20 International series against England, Rahul struggled for runs, but he found success in the One-Day Internationals during England’s recent tour of India.

India won the three-match series 2-1 thanks to Rahul’s century and half-century.
