The Indian Premier League’s Phase 2 will take place in the United Arab Emirates between September and October, and will include the final 31 matches of the 2021 season, as well as the four knockout games. BCCI is expected to make the announcement on May 29 at a special general meeting of the organization’s members.
The five-Test series between India and England is set to begin on August 4. According to sources, the second and third tests were separated by nine days. “If the deficit can be narrowed to four days, BCCI would have five more days to work with,” they added.
The BCCI has not held any formal discussions with the ECB to see whether the 41-day timeframe set aside for the five Tests can be shortened. The SGM will make a decision on this.
