Shivam Mavi, the 2018 Under 19 World Cup winner and KKR rising prodigy, spoke openly with india.com in an exclusive interview. Mavi, who is 23 years old, mentioned that he enjoys watching Bollywood films and that his favourite actress is Disha Patani. He also admitted to watching MS Dhoni: The Untold Story several times.”Who is your favourite Bollywood actress?” a Facebook user asked Mavi during the private interview. Mavi was ready to react to this inquiry, stating, “Disha Patani.” The interviewer then joked that the young bowler had seen MS Dhoni: The Untold Story a few times. Mavi didn’t hold back, saying and responding affirmatively.
He also discussed how MS Dhoni’s mentoring helped him develop over the past two IPL seasons. Shivam claimed he asked Dhoni about the field configuration following a KKR vs. CSK match. Dhoni reminded him that it depends on the wicket’s nature, and that after he’s established the field, he should concentrate on the plan and not overthink it.
“I went to Dhoni during the IPL because I was experiencing issues putting up the field.” Dhoni clarified things for me and told me what I needed to accomplish. And his advice has come in handy during the last two IPL seasons. Dhoni stated that the field configuration is determined by the wicket’s performance. During the interview, Mavi added, “He also said don’t think too much about it and just focus on what you have to accomplish.”
Mavi was acquired back by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for 7.25 crores on the opening day of the IPL mega auctions.
