During the Indian Premier League match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians on Friday, the Royal Challengers Bangalore and Punjab Kings engaged in some lighthearted banter. The squad tweeted to thank Punjab Kings for releasing Glenn Maxwell ahead of the auction in February as he scored his first six for RCB in the run chase. “Thank you for your support, @PunjabKingsIPL. We’d hug you if it weren’t for the social barrier “RCB sent out a tweet. Punjab Kings responded appropriately, thanking their IPL opponents for the release of Chris Gayle, KL Rahul, Mayank Agarwal, and Sarfaraz Khan, all former RCB players. Punjab Kings replied, “Aww and thank you for Gayle, KL, Mandy, Sarfaraz, Mayank…”

RCB went on to say that Punjab Kings’ “jersey, cap, pads…and logo” were also inspired by the Bangalore franchise, to which Punjab Kings responded simply: “Yes, thank you for inventing colours.”
Maxwell, who did not hit a single six for Punjab Kings last season, hit two in his 39-run innings off 28 balls to help RCB win the IPL 2021 season opener in a last-ball thriller on Friday.
The ball was sent flying out of the ground by one of the two sixes, drawing an excited response from RCB captain Virat Kohli, and the other was a full-blooded switch-hit off Rahul Chahar.
