Sunil Joshi has been appointed spin bowling coach for the Punjab Kings, the franchise announced Monday. A former Indian left arm spinner, his Joshi was until recently a member of India’s Senior Citizens Selection Committee.
Joshi joins his coaching staff led by Trevor Bayliss, who replaced Anil Kumble after his season prior to his IPL. He was part of the revamped support team, with Wasim Jafar and Charl Langevelt returning as batting and bowling coaches respectively. The Kings also changed captains a few months ago, appointing Shikar Dhawan as skipper and releasing Mayank Agarwal. Prior to becoming the spin bowling coach of the Punjab team in 2019, Joshi held a similar role in Bangladesh. He has also coached Ranji his teams such as Hyderabad, Jammu, Kashmir and Assam.
