Domestic Career

Jayant Yadav made his first-class debut against Gujarat in 2011 and took six wickets to help his team win the match. In 2012, his record-breaking partnership of 392 runs for the eighth wicket with Amit Mishra drew widespread attention and sent a message that he could bat as well. His contribution to the stand was 211 runs, which was also his first-class century.

Jayant took 33 wickets in the 2014-15 Ranji season, heading the top wicket-taker list. His success did not go unnoticed by the selectors, and he was named to the India A team for a triangular series against South Africa A and Bangladesh A.

IPL Career

Yadav’s outstanding results in the Ranji Trophy in 2014-15 enticed IPL team owners to sign him, and he was eventually signed by Delhi Daredevils in the same year’s auction. In 2015, he only appeared in three games and bowled at a 4.14 economy average. Jayant Yadav was traded to the Mumbai Indians ahead of the 12th season after being with the Delhi franchise since 2015. Jayant, who was retained by MI after appearing in just two games in 2019, will expect to see more playing time in the 2020 season.
