Manimaran Siddharth Bio

Manimaran Siddharth is a Tamil Nadu-based up-and-comer who was born on July 3, 1998. After being selected by Kolkata Knight Riders, the slow-eft-arm orthodox bowler had a standout domestic season and will be looking to step up in this year’s IPL.

Domestic Career

Manimaran Siddharth made his Twenty20 debut for Tamil Nadu in the 2019–20 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy on November 22, 2019. His debut was sensational, with a four-wicket haul in his allotted four overs. As Tamil Nadu won by 9 wickets, he took major wickets of Prithvi Shaw, Shreyas Iyer, Siddhesh Lad, and Suryakumar Yadav. He then went on to bowl Jharkhand for 4/18, destroying the middle order by dismissing Sumit Kumar, Utkarsh Singh, Anukul Roy, and Anand Singh.On 9 December 2019, he made his first-class debut for Tamil Nadu against Karnataka in the 2019–20 Ranji Trophy, taking three wickets. Karnataka, on the other hand, won the match by 26 runs. Last season, Siddharth also played in the Tamil Nadu Premier League for Chepauk Super Gillies, where he took 5 wickets in 7 matches.

IPL Career

For his superb run with the ball in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, the Tamil Nadu youngster drew an offer from Kolkata Knight Riders and was sold to the franchise for INR 20 lakhs. It would be difficult for him to break into the playing XI this season, but playing alongside Kuldeep Yadav and Sunil Narine will be a big learning experience for him.
