Kieron Pollard is set to return to the Pakistan Super League for the first time since 2019 after being selected in Multan Sultan’s Reserve Draft. The draft, which took place on today’s conference call, allowed each side of the PSL to add two more players, naming partial replacements for players with limited vacancies. Each team was allowed a maximum of one foreign player out of two additional picks.
Recently returning to Pakistan’s ODI side for the first time since 2020, Haris Sohail was named for former team Peshawar Zalmi. Pakistan’s home test against England and New Zealand Saud Shakeel, who recently made a name for himself in his series, will play for his Gladiators in Quetta. Many backups have been chosen due to availability issues during the PSL, mainly for bilateral series between the West Indies and South Africa, as well as Afghanistan’s potential international commitments. In the platinum category, Lahore chose Callanders Sam Billings over Rashid Khan. Peshawar Zalmi replaced Rovman Powell with he Richard Gleeson. Islamabad United have appointed Gus Atkinson and Timaru Mills for Ramanullah Grubaz and Alex Hales. The Sultan of Multan replaced David Miller with Izharulhaq Naveed. Quetta has booked his pick for Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga, which ends the tournament on March 3rd. In the diamond division, Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi booked the favourites, Fazalhak Farooqi and Mujib-ur-Rehman. The Quetta Gladiators chose Dwayne Pretorius and Will Jacks for Odean Smith and Jason Roy.
The PSL will start on his February 13th in Multan and the final will take place on his March 19th in Lahore.
