Ireland will play its first Test match in almost four years as part of Bangladesh’s first full tour in March-April, a senior cricket official said on Monday.
The Irishman will play three He Twenty20 international matches and a test from April 4-8 in Dhaka.
It will be the first meeting between the two teams in the test. Ireland have only played her three friendly matches, the last of which she had in July 2019.
“Ireland’s visit to Bangladesh is another exciting event in our home season following series with India and England,” said Nizam Woodin Chowdhury, CEO of the Bangladesh Cricket Board. The tour kicks off in Sylhet on March 18th, 20th and 23rd with three one-day international tours. Chittagong will host three T20s on 27th, 29th and 31st March.
The only time Ireland visited Bangladesh for a bilateral series was in 2008 when they played a three-match ODI series in Dhaka.
