Pant was involved in a car accident on the Delhi-Dehradun highway on his way to his hometown of Roorkee on 30 December and was treated at Dehradun’s Max Hospital.
Indian cricketer Rishabh Pant will be transferred to Mumbai for further treatment on Wednesday, Shyam Sundar, director of the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA), reported ANI news agency. Punt was involved in a car accident on the Delhi-Dehradun highway on December 30 while enroute to his hometown of Roorkee and was treated at Dehradun’s Max Hospital.
“Rishabh will be transferred to Mumbai for diagnosis and treatment of ligament injury to decide how to proceed. He stands by renowned BCCI-equipped sports orthopedic surgeon Dr. If we have advice on surgery, if it’s in the UK or the US, we’ll get a call,” a senior BCCI source told PTI on condition of anonymity.
Pant was taken to Saksham Hospital after his car overturned several times and caught fire early last Friday. After emergency treatment, he was transferred to Max Hospital.
Pant has injuries to his forehead, torn ligaments in his right knee, injured ankles and wrists, and abrasions on his back.A 25-year-old man was killed on a highway, with a bus driver on Haryana Road. Sharma said BCCI is monitoring Pant’s treatment and is in “constant contact” with his medical team.
“As for the ligament damage in his right knee, it will take him some time to recover. “He will get the best treatment possible,” he added.
Pant faces a long absence from competitive cricket and will miss his series of four tests in Australia from 9 February, his BCCI official quoted by the Press Trust of India news agency said. He said he was likely to miss the event.
There are also some reports suggesting Pant may miss the entire IPL 2023. He is the captain of the Delhi Capitals.
“Frankly, he was obviously a very important part of [Team India’s World Cup plans]. But now everyone knows the situation,” said Hardik Pandya, who will lead India in the ongoing three-game T20I series against Sri Lanka.
