Domestic Career

The Tamil Nadu lower-order batsman was one of the most famous picks at the IPL 2021 auction in Chennai. Though everybody is talking about the recently ended Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, where Shahrukh’s team advanced to the semifinals after a 40-run blitz against Himachal Pradesh, Shahrukh’s hard work and tales of being underestimated began a long time ago.

But, with the help of Tamil Nadu captain and India international Dinesh Karthik, he made progress. With his hard-hitting skills, he lit up the stage in the Tamil Nadu Premier League, earning him a couple of trials from IPL teams but no takers at the auction.

Under – 19

He was a cricketing sensation in his home state at any age group, always making headlines. Shahrukh predicted a call-up to represent his country after starring with both bat and ball in the Cooch Behar Trophy, which led to the ICC U-19 World Cup in 2014.

Despite making 634 runs and taking 18 wickets, the all-rounder was shocked when the call never arrived.

IPL Career

However, as everyone knows, “hard work pays off.” Punjab Kings (formerly known as Kings XI Punjab) have signed Shahrukh Khan for a whopping amount of 5.25 crore.
