Latham also drew her confidence from New Zealand’s ODI success in Karachi, recovering from a 1-0 deficit and securing her series three games. While the Pakistani course was slow and slippery, the Indian course could be far superior in hitting surface. This was also the case in the final series against Sri Lanka, where the home side scored 370 or more twice in three games.
“The cricket I played in Pakistan was really good,” said Latham. “I haven’t toured in a long time and it was really nice to win the series in a place that was difficult to play in. I think when we come here it’s all about adapting to the conditions as much as possible.Here. The track is probably going to be better than Pakistan so we’re just trying to stick to our plan as much as possible and I’m sure it will be a competitive series.Anytime we play against India we’re going to have a competitive series. and I look forward to seeing what happens next.”
