Pakistan, who started on 02, came close to the goal after 100 years of stoic wicketkeeper Sarfaraz Ahmed (118). Sarfaraz’s ton lifted Pakistan from a poor 80 to 5 to 287 before his dismissal put Pakistan on the brink of series defeat.
But bottom of his Naseem Shah and Abrar Ahmed played the next 21 deliveries and the Kiwis were just 14 runs ahead when the referee called for stumps for the final fading light . The series finished 0-0.
Sarfaraz Ahmed scored his 335 runs in the two Tests and was named Series Most Valuable Player, including three for his 50-year-old and three for his century.
The teams will face off in his ODI series of three games starting Monday.
