Indian opener Shubman Gill equaled Babar Azam’s world record in the third ODI between India and New Zealand at Holker Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.
Shubman Gill continued his sensational run in his format of 50 overs on Tuesday, winning his fourth one-day international (ODI) century in his third and final match between India and New Zealand in Indore. Opener Gill, who joined Indian captain Rohit Sharma in the 3rd ODI, celebrated his second century in his three-game series against Tom Latham-led New Zealand at Holker Cricket Stadium.

Pakistani skipper Babar set a world record as the star hitter with his 360 runs against the West Indies in 2016.
Gill also defeated veteran Indian opener Shikar Dhawan with his fourth ODI ton in the high scoring contest. The young opener is the fastest Indian hitter to score four ODI centuries in the 50 overs format. Gill achieved a special feat in his 21st innings and Dhawan in his 24th innings he scored 4th century and became a two time world champion.
Talking about the game, Rohit and Gill recorded his best opening partnership against New Zealand in Indore. Rohit and Gill sewed an impressive streak of 212 runs in 26 overs for the hosts. Earlier, Gill had broken several records in the series opener between India and New Zealand in Hyderabad. At 23, he became the youngest batsman to hit a double century in ODI cricket for Hyderabad. Gill’s 208-run knock-off 149 balls gave India a thrilling 12-run victory over New Zealand in the 1st ODI.
