Vishnu Vinod Bio

Vishnu Vinod (born December 2, 1993) is an Indian cricketer who represents Kerala in domestic cricket. He is a wicketkeeper and a right-handed batsman.

Vishnu was born in the Pathanamthitta district of Kerala, in the Kallisseri village of Thiruvalla. He attended MGM Higher Secondary School in Thiruvalla and High School Ranni in Perunad for his education. He earned a BA in Political Science from Mar Thoma College in Thiruvalla.

Domestic career

On 3 April 2014, he made his Twenty20 debut for Kerala against Karnataka in the 2014-15 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy season. On 10 November 2014, he made his List A debut against Hyderabad in the 2014-15 Vijay Hazare Trophy season in Kerala. On November 5, 2016, he made his first-class debut for Kerala in the 2016–17 Ranji Trophy.

He was called to India A’s squad for the 2019–20 Deodhar Trophy in October 2019. He played both matches, resulting in a forgettable tournament in which he scored 23 runs in two matches at an average of 11.50.

He was Kerala’s leading run scorer in the 2019-20 Vijay Hazare Trophy, scoring 508 runs in eight matches at an average of 63.50, including three centuries.

Indian Premier League

In the 2017 Indian Premier League, Vishnu was signed to play for Royal Challengers Bangalore as a replacement for wicketkeeper KL Rahul, who was ruled out of the competition. He appeared in three matches during the season, scoring 19 runs on an average of 6.33 runs per match, but was not retained by the squad for the next season. In later editions of the Indian Premier League, he went unsold (IPL). Vinod was purchased by the Delhi Capitals in the IPL auction in February 2021, ahead of the 2021 Indian Premier League.

Vishnu is a good wicketkeeper and an attacking batsman. He’s a versatile player who can bat at the top of the order as well as the bottom. In the domestic arena, he has amazed critics with his six-hitting ability.
