women’s big bash 2023 prediction dream 11 today : Heat sign star England starter for full roster

With the addition of England star Danni Wyatt to their lineup for the Weber WBBL|08, Brisbane Heat has added international firepower.

The Heat’s roster for the upcoming season is now complete with the inclusion of opener Wyatt, who is playing in the WBBL for the first time since representing the Melbourne Renegades in WBBL|05.

She completes a strong international trio on the Brisbane list that also includes Australian Commonwealth Games gold medalists Jess Jonassen and Grace Harris, as well as New Zealand leg-spinner Amelia Kerr and India all-rounder Pooja Vastrakar.

When it comes to highlighting the abilities and strength of our team, Donni is the total package, according to Heat coach Ashley Noffke.

“We’re thrilled to have her join the Heat because she has achieved success all over the world, excelling with other teams and under various circumstances.

“She will beautifully complete the list that we have put together. She has the advantage of having previously seen success in the WBBL when playing for the Renegades. She is shrewd with her shot selection and astute with her game management.”

The Heat’s top-order may shift as a result of Wyatt’s arrival. Grace Harris and Georgia Redmayne batted first for the Heat last year, but with the acquisition of the right-hander from England, one of the Australians may move down the lineup.

The 31-year-old has appeared in 132 T20 Internationals and amassed six T20 hundreds throughout her career, including tonnes against Australia and India at the international level. Most recently, the batswoman smashed a 34-ball 65 for Southern Brave in The Hundred.

It was wonderful to answer a call from the Heat asking whether I was eager to return to Australia since, as Wyatt mentioned, “I was fortunate to have a good experience and enjoy my cricket earlier in the WBBL.”

“In one of my final WBBL games against the Heat (in 2019), we chased down a big score to win and put ourselves in position to go to the championship game.

I’m eager to catch up and enjoy everything the season has to offer with the Heat after playing a lot of international matches against Jess Jonassen and Amelia Kerr in recent years, including the Commonwealth Games.

The Heat have kept a very same lineup despite being inside the top four last season and losing to Adelaide Strikers in the elimination round.

When compared to last season’s trio of Poonam Yadav, Nadine de Klerk, and Anneke Bosch, there has only been one alteration to their local contingent. Kerr has returned after having a hiatus from cricket during WBBL|07, and Wyatt and Vastrakar have joined the club for the first time.

Grace Parsons, a 16-year-old leg-spinner, has signed her maiden WBBL contract, while Georgia Prestwidge is leaving the team but has not yet decided where she will play next.

The Heat and Sydney Sixers will face off in the WBBL season opener on October 13 at Mackay’s Great Barrier Reef Arena.

Amelia Kerr (New Zealand), Pooja Vastrakar (India), Danni Wyatt (England), Zoe Cooke, Nicola Hancock, Grace Harris, Laura Harris, Mikayla Hinkley, Ellie Johnston, Charli Knott, Grace Parsons (new), Georgia Redmayne, Courtney Sippel, and Georgia Voll make up the Brisbane Heat squad. Jess Jonassen serves as captain.
