WPL Prediction 2023: Women’s Premier League: Delhi Capitals offer WV Raman, Jhulan Goswami, coach roles

The Delhi Capitals are considering appointing WV Raman as head coach of the Women’s Premier League, with Juran Goswami likely to take over as bowling coach.

“We have offered Juran the role of bowling coach and we are confident she will accept the offer.

The Capitals are one of her five franchises to provide teams for the inaugural convention, which is set to begin March 4.

One of her women’s cricket icons, Goswami retired from all forms of cricket last September and now works as a mentor for her Bengal team. Also, Delhi Her Capitals management believes the presence of Goswami and Raman will be helpful in terms of experience. Raman was head coach of the Indian women’s team from December 2018 to March 2021 when the Indian Cricket Control Board (BCCI) appointed Ramesh Powar as head coach.

“WV has done a great job with the Indian team, which is why we offered him the head coaching position,” said Ganguly, the former India captain and former president of BCCI.

BCCI announced his five franchises in Mumbai earlier this week, while player auctions are set to take place in Mumbai or Bangalore in the second week of his February.

Adani Group, India Win Sports, Capri Global and Royal Challengers Bangalore are the other teams in the first he will be in the 22-match tournament.
