“There is no denying that Shreyas Iyer’s leadership and batting will be missed this year, and we expect to see him back on the field soon,” said team co-owner Parth Jindal. The Delhi team has played an important role in his development as a cricketer, and he has played an equal role in the Delhi team’s development. I wish Rishabh and the rest of the team the best of luck.”

“When I incurred the shoulder injury and the Delhi Capitals wanted a leader for this edition of the IPL, I had no doubt that Rishabh will be the right man for the job,” Shreyas Iyer said. Rishabh Pant commented on his new job, saying, “My IPL journey began six years ago in Delhi, where I grew up. It’s always been a dream of mine to one day lead this group. And I’m humbled today as the dream comes true. I owe a huge debt of gratitude to our team owners, who saw me as capable enough for this role. I’m excited to give my all for Delhi Capitals, with an incredible coaching team and a multitude of seasoned seniors around me.”

“The previous two seasons under Shreyas’ leadership have been amazing, and the results speak for themselves,” said Delhi Capitals Head Coach Ricky Ponting. This is a fantastic chance for Rishabh, who is coming off promising stints against Australia and England, which will undoubtedly give him the courage he needs to take on a new job with a lot more responsibilities. The coaching staff is looking forward to working with him, and we can’t wait for the season to begin.”

Rishabh Pant will head the team for the first time in the IPL. The 23-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman has previously captained the Delhi state team.
