Today IPL Toss Load : Tabraiz Shamsi Signed by Rajasthan Royals

The Rajasthan Royals signed left-arm wrist spinner Tabraiz Shamsi on Wednesday for the balance of the 2021 IPL season, which begins September 19 in the UAE. Shamsi, the ICC’s top-ranked T20I bowler, will be the Royals’ second substitute player. The 31-year-old from Johannesburg debuted for South Africa against England in 2017. Since then, he has taken 45 wickets in 39 T20Is and 32 wickets in 27 ODIs for South Africa.

Shamsi has played 4 matches in the IPL, taking 3 wickets for Royal Challengers Bangalore, who signed him as a replacement player in 2016.

During the first phase of the IPL, Andrew Tye, an Australian pacer, returned home due of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“It is with great regret that I must withdraw from the remaining IPL 2021 with the Rajasthan Royals,” Tye said in a team release.

“It’s been a long year away from home, and the sadness of not making the World Cup squad has added to the dismay.”

“In my best interest, I had to stay home and prepare mentally and physically for next year’s T20 World Cup.”
