Bhanuka Rajapaksa, a Sri Lankan cricketer, said he wants to learn from Virat Kohli’s workout routine, comparing the Indian batter to Cristiano Ronaldo in terms of work ethic.
Kohli has transformed the Indian team’s fitness standards, and he is arguably one of the fittest cricketers in the world. Having seen him, Rajapaksa hopes to improve in that area, having faced his own fitness challenges.
Virat Kohli is always someone I can go to outside of the squad and seek fitness tips from. When it comes to fitness, he’s on a whole other level. He is, without a doubt, the Cristiano Ronaldo of cricket.”
You can clearly see the fruits of his efforts. When it comes to fitness or even talents, he may be compared to anybody. In an interview with PTI, Rajapaksa said, “He plays so hard, and you can learn a lot by talking to him.”
Bhanuka Rajapaksa wants to be in better shape so that he may play international cricket for Sri Lanka.
Rajapaksa was just kicked out of the Sri Lanka team due to his lack of fitness. He declared his retirement from international cricket, but when pressed, he changed his mind and is currently vying for a spot on the Sri Lankan national squad.
“As a gamer, you must be physically fit, although this varies from person to person. Of course, skill comes first for me. Then there’s fitness, but if you’re not in good enough shape, you won’t be able to perform. I’m putting in a lot of effort to improve my fitness. I go to the gym first thing in the morning whenever I have a free day.”
That there are certain physical prerequisites to represent the country, and that if I were in better shape, my international career would last longer. I’m hoping to play for at least the next three to four years and give my best for the country, but I had to rescind my resignation after a few meetings with the technical committee and the Sports Minister. They pressed me to rethink my retirement, therefore I withdrew it,” Rajapaksa said.
