The WBBL has returned and is stronger than ever! The Perth Scorchers have had enough time to celebrate their championship from the previous season; the title race should now officially resume.
The Brisbane Heat and Sydney Sixers will face off in the first game of the new Women’s Big Bash League in a nighttime contest played under floodlights.
Both clubs have produced outstanding squads in recent years and have each won two championships, so it will be interesting to see which one opens the season with a win.

BRISBANE HEAT WOMEN
The Heat have a superstar top-order hitter from England named Danni Wyatt on their squad, so Brisbane hasn’t been idle during the cricket off-season.
Wyatt has amassed a remarkable 2,159 runs in 135 T20 games (including two 100s) with a batting average of 20.96. Even though Wyatt’s performance might be patchy, Heat fans are drawn to her for both her skill and experience in the WBBL.
Along with all-rounder Amelia Kerr, Brisbane’s roster also has Indian all-rounder Pooja Vastrakar, who will provide some much-needed speed bowling and lower-order batting.
Despite Georgia Prestwidge’s departure from the team, Grace Parsons, a young leg-spinner, is generating a lot of hype since she will greatly diversify the bowling approach.

Ecclestone, a left-arm spinner who enjoys utilising a wide variety of attacks to take wickets, will come into play as soon as her bowling overs begin. She has a bowling average of 16.34, 82 wickets in 61 T20s, and 1,340 runs allowed.
The Sixers haven’t had much success in recent years, as they’ve missed the championship game three times in a row. Still, there is a lot to be enthused about for Sixers fans with Ecclestone and new arrivals like Suzie Bates and Ellyse Perry joining the very seasoned Alyssa Healy on the team.
Despite Hayley Silver-Holmes’ transfer to the Hurricanes and the fact that Hayley Hughes will miss the whole season due to injury, there is still a tonne of talent on the squad to contend for a title.
