Smith was left out of the Australian squad for most of his T20 World Cup home disappointment last year, only playing in midfield in the final group match.

“I don’t read much about it,” he said. “I’m just going to go out and play and do my best. We’ll see what the future holds, but it’s still a while before the next T20 international match.”
Smith and Warner will face off at his BBL on Saturday night. The game is poised to sell out and could be the biggest crowd for his BBL game in Sydney since January 2017.
Warner showed signs of getting a shot ahead of the 26-year-old blockbuster in the crucial game where Sydney Thunder beat Melbourne his Renegades by his eight wickets on Thursday night. Warner then said he expects Smith’s life against the Thunder at SCG to be tougher than Tuesday’s game at Coffs Harbor, where the right-hander hit 7 6.
“The boundaries of Smudge are getting bigger and bigger,” Warner quipped. “They won’t be a 60-meter hit for him. So we’ll see if he can come out and break those [SCG] barriers.”
