Cricbuzz prediction today: Jay Shah, Dravid and Chetan Discuss India Team Performance

India’s head coach Rahul Dravid is scheduled to meet with BCCI secretary Jay Shah on Sunday (1 January) to discuss next steps for the men’s national team.

The chairman of the selection committee, Chetan Sharma, was also invited to the Mumbai conference, but the National Cricket Academy (NCA) president could not confirm whether VVS Laxman would also attend. With the World Cup scheduled for the second half of 2023 in India, plans for the prestigious event are expected to be discussed.

BCCI President and World Cup winner Roger Binney will not attend as he is believed to be out of the country. It remains to be seen if he will participate via video conference. Looking back at the team’s recent performances is not out of the question, but among the top BCCI blowers it’s all about getting everything ready for the national team so that Dravid and his men can step into the cup. BCCI’s leadership can be said to support the team’s coaches and captains, Dravid and Rohit Sharma.

CAC members meet the Shah

Meanwhile, members of the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC), tasked with forming a new selection panel, met with the Shah on Friday. Ashok Malhotra, Sulakshana Naik and Jatin Paranjpe met with his BCCI Director to discuss how the new selection committee will be set up early next month.

An interview date has not yet been set and it is understood that BCCI has notified his CAC members that it will update its schedule after confirming the availability of the finalists. Some candidates are interviewed physically, while others are interviewed online. We don’t yet know how many people made it to the final list, but it’s unlikely to exceed 20.
