Indian wicket-keeper hitter Sanju Samson has been ruled out of the remainder of his T20I series for his three games against Sri Lanka, the BCCI said Wednesday.
Samson played in Monday’s opener in Mumbai with a knee injury in 13 overs as India won by just two runs.
He was taken to Mumbai by his BCCI medical team for a scan and expert opinion and was recommended rest and rehabilitation.
BCCI also named Jitesh Sharma as Sanju’s replacement for Samson for the remainder of the series. .
India’s second round of his T20I against Sri Lanka will be held in Pune on 5 January.
