Cricketzine prediction: Labuschagne reveals plans to tackle Ashwin in India and Australia tests

Australian hitter Marnus Labuschagne has revealed he has adjusted his batting strategy ahead of the Border Gavaskar Trophy in India to counter Ravichandran Ashwin’s spin.

Pat Cummins and his men will tour India for his four-game series of tests starting February 9. The first test will be held at the Vidarba Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur.

Ashwin took his two wickets for Labshagne in his 2020-21 series for India in Australia, but the Queenslanders still averaged 53.25 with the bat.

“We made some changes to the game based on what we heard about Ashwin and how he threw the ball at me,” said Labuschagne. “It’s going to be a great chess match and I can’t wait,” he added.

The 28-year-old started preparing for the India tour shortly after his home series in 2020/21.

“Preparation starts a long time ago. Labuschagne said.

“I can’t wait. I’m really looking forward to the next 10 friendly games,” said Labuschagne. “I can’t wait to challenge Spin in India and I can’t wait to challenge Ronball and Bazball.”
