Chennai Super Kings’ Pre-Season Camp Commences with Focus on Deepak Chahar’s Comeback
Chennai Super Kings’ pre-season camp kicked off on Saturday, marked by the presence of pacer Deepak Chahar, who aims to secure a national comeback through consistent performances for his franchise in the IPL, which commences on March 22.
The first batch of players arrived in the city on Friday, including Simarjeet Singh (pacer), Rajvardhan Hangargekar (all-rounder), Mukesh Choudhary (pacer), Prashant Solanki (spinner), Ajay Mandal (all-rounder), and Deepak Chahar (seamer).
Chahar has been absent from cricket since December, when he withdrew from the T20 series against Australia and subsequently skipped the South Africa tour due to his father’s illness. Despite this, he declared himself fully fit last month during his training stint at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. The injury-prone pacer is targeting a return to the national side for the T20 World Cup scheduled in the Caribbean and the USA in June.
The confirmation of fan-favorite and team skipper MS Dhoni’s arrival is still pending. Dhoni was recently seen with his wife Sakshi in Jamnagar, attending the pre-wedding function of Anant Ambani, the youngest son of Indian business tycoon Mukesh Ambani.
