IPL PREDICTION TELEGRAM CHANNEL : Lucknow Super Giants Appoints Former South Africa Star as New Assistant Coach

Former South African all-rounder Lance Klusener appointed as assistant coach for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) ahead of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. Aged 52, Klusener joins head coach Justin Langer and fellow assistant coach S Sriram as LSG aims for their maiden IPL title under captain KL Rahul. Klusener will also oversee Durban’s Super Giants, the South Africa-based affiliate of the franchise in SA20.

This marks Klusener’s second coaching stint in the IPL, having previously served as assistant to Shaun Pollock for Mumbai Indians (MI). With coaching experience for South Africa, Afghanistan, and Tripura, Klusener brings extensive expertise.

During his playing career from 1996 to 2004, Klusener featured in 171 ODIs and 49 Tests for South Africa. He notably excelled in the 1999 ODI World Cup, scoring 281 runs and claiming 17 wickets, earning the Player of the Tournament award.

Transitioning to coaching post-retirement, Klusener has guided teams globally. He previously collaborated with LSG’s rising pace bowler Shamar Joseph at Guyana Amazon Warriors in the Caribbean Premier League.

LSG’s IPL 2024 campaign begins against Rajasthan Royals on March 24 at Jaipur’s Sawai Mansingh Stadium.
