CSK’s Faf du Plessis misses out on a contract with Cricket South Africa : IPL 2021

Cricket South Africa (CSA) announced its national contracts for the 2021-22 season on Tuesday. Faf du Plessis, the former captain of South Africa and a player for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), did not make the cut.

The news comes just days after Faf du Plessis announced his retirement from Test cricket to concentrate on the T20 World Cup.

The time has come to begin a new beginning. It has been a privilege to represent my country in all forms of the game, but the time has come for me to retire from Test cricket,he had said, adding, “The next two years are ICC T20 World Cup years.As a result, my attention is moving to this style, and I want to play as much of it as possible all over the world in order to become the best player I can be.

Faf du Plessis will play in the upcoming IPL 2021, which starts next month and is being prepared for at a training camp in Chennai’s Cheapauk Stadium. The Chennai Super Kings will face the Delhi Capitals in their first match on April 10 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

This season, du Plessis will have a new opening batsman, as Shane Watson has withdrawn from all forms of cricket. He’ll probably start with Ruturaj Gaikwad, a talented youngster, or Robin Uthappa, a newly acquired IPL veteran. In CSK’s search to win the IPL, the right-handed batsman is required to play crucial innings. The Chennai-based franchise paid Rs 1.6 crore to keep the 36-year-old.

South Africa Women contract members raised to 15

Cricketer South Africa has also released the deal for the South African Women’s team. They are now on a tour of India and have won the ODI series so far. According to the press release, CSA has raised the number of women on the team from 14 to 15.
