IPL 2023: 3 ILT20 superstars who didn’t attend the IPL 2023 auction

ILT20 is one of the many franchise competitions currently dominating the cricket calendar, and some of the players participating in the league are already on teams in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

The likes of Rovman Powell, Fazalhaq Farooqi and Naveen-ul-Haq are among his top performers in the ILT20 and will be in action later this year when his 2023 IPL season begins. At the same time, however, some of ILT20’s consistent performers have never been available during the IPL auction for a variety of reasons.

 Kieron Pollard

Mumbai Indian legend Kieron Pollard is enjoying a great season for MI Emirates at ILT20. He is his second-highest run scorer in his six games with 275 runs, an average of 91.66, making notable contributions both on the ball and on the field.

However, Pollard will not join the MI Squad for his IPL 2023. He endured a dismal season, scoring just 144 runs in 11 games, averaging 14.4 and batting average 107.46, and lost his place in Play XI towards the end of the 2022 season.

Alex Hales

Only Alex Hales has scored more points than Kieron Pollard in the ILT20. The Desert Vipers hitter scored a whopping 434 runs in seven games, averaging 86.8, a century and a score of 99.

Hales has not played in the IPL since the 2018 season as he played in his six games for Sunrisers. The Englishman was part of the Kolkata Knight Riders team during the 2022 IPL, but withdrew from the tournament due to bladder fatigue. KKR probably intended to keep him, but he withdrew from IPL 2023 along with Pat Cummins and Sam Billings, citing international commitments.

Robin uthappa

Robin Uthappa’s performance in ILT20 declined slightly, posting triple figures in the final four innings. However, this Indian hitter caused quite a stir as he started the competition, scoring 43 and his 79 in his first two games in Dubai at the Capitals.

Uthappa has announced his retirement from all forms of Indian cricket in September 2022 after joining Chennai’s Super His Kings. He scored his 230 runs in his IPL 2022 with an average of 20.91 and a batting average of 134.5, men in his yellows finished his ninth on his table in points.

Uthappa looks like he’s 37 and still has something on his plate, but it’s easy to see why he decided to leave the IPL.
