IPL 2023: Are Rajasthan Royals Playing In Jodhpur? Rajasthan Cricket Association Makes Special Request Asking BCCI To Add Another Home Game In Jaipur And Jodhpur

IPL 2023:
The Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) has asked the BCCI to split the home games of the Rajasthan Royals this season. All 2008 champions are based in Jaipur’s Sawai Man Singh Stadium. However, with the return of the Bahkatullah Khan Stadium in Jodhpur as a venue, RCA would like to play their home games there.

His Barkatullah Stadium in Jodhpur could host some matches in his upcoming IPL season, according to the Indian Express. The Rajasthan Cricket Association has applied to play some RR home games at the venue. Jodhpur has never hosted an IPL game and Jaipur is the default home of the Rajasthan Royals.

Each venue must meet basic criteria for the federation to be awarded his IPL games. Jodhpur is on the cutting edge of recent times, but the size of the border is a concern. RCA hosted some top-notch games that season after a 20-year hiatus. The venue also hosted a Legends League cricket match last year. “Oral question. I heard that RCA has revitalized the stadium and was wondering if Jodhpur could be considered as a new venue for the IPL games. No,” a BCCI source told the Indian Express.

The Barkatullah Khan stadium has a capacity of 30,000 spectators. The ground was packed during the LLC game, and it was easy to imagine the reaction during his IPL match, especially in the home-and-away format. Per protocol, BCCI will send a team to inspect the stadium. The inspector will send a report to the IPL Board before a final decision is made.

Besides Jaipur, Rajasthan Royals also played his home game at Sardar Patel Stadium in Ahmedabad. However, with the Gujarat Titans now part of the setup, that decision is not in the equation. The stadium has since been renovated and is now home to Hardik Pandya and Co.
