Agarwal was sold to Sunrisers Hyderabad at IPL 2023 auction.
Mayank Agarwal signed for Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs 8.25 crore at the IPL 2023 auction held in Kochi on Friday.
The Punjabi Kings and royal Challengers Bangalore were involved in the batsman’s opening bid for him. The player’s base price was he Rs 100 million.
Chennai Super Kings then entered the race with a bid of Rs 3 crore as three teams battled for the first batsman. Sunrisers Hyderabad followed suit with a bid of Rs. 400 million. Both teams remained tied to their bids before SRH hooked their players.
Agarwal was released by the Punjab Kings for one season after retaining him for Rs 140 crore. He has played for the franchise since his 2018 and captained the team in 2022.
Agarwal has also played for Rising Pune Supergiant, Delhi Daredevils, Royal Challengers Bangalore. In his 113 games in the IPL, Agarwal scored his 2,331 runs at a batting average of 134.51. Agarwal scored a century against the Rajasthan Royals in the 2020 edition.
In T20, Mayank averages 25.77 and strikes his rate he is 134.57.
