Stokes on Curran for Top 5 Foreign Players Potential to Make Big Money on December 23rd
The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 auction will take place in Kochi on Friday.
A one-day mini-auction will give all 10 teams a chance to assemble their final rosters before next year’s Marquee League Season 16. Up to 87 slots will be open for teams, but the 30 slots open to his T20 star, the biggest overseas, will be a big draw.

Ben Stokes (England)

The mini-auction has historically set the highest bid in an IPL and Stokes tweaked the magic figure of INR 16.25 crore (the highest bid ever) on December 23rd.
Cameron Green (Australia)
Cameron Green has surged into the 2020 Australian test squad and his integral all-around talent has made him a logical addition to the T20I squad, but the 1.80m tall Green is not his favorite at home. Had to wait nearly two years before debuting in his T20I just before the T20 World Cup. Green was initially absent from the World Cup squad, but was soon drafted by Josh Inglis after sustaining an injury.

Brooke made a name for himself in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) earlier this year by beating champions Lahore Karandar his second fastest PSL ton (48 balls). Brook was also the youngest to achieve the feat (22y 362d) as he amassed 264 runs in eight innings at an astounding strike rate of 171.42. Brook could add to the firepower of teams scrambling to fix their middle-order woes at an opening bid of INR 1.5 crore.
NICHOLAS POORAN (WEST INDIES)
Nicholas Pooran was set for bigger things after a decent 2020 season with Punjab Kings (353 runs, 25 sixes). However, a horrendous run the next season with four ducks in 12 innings forced Pooran’s exit from Punjab. The West Indies power-hitter surprisingly found a hefty lift of INR 10.75 crore – nearly 10 times his base price – from Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the 2022 mega-auction. Poulin came back with 306 carries from 14 games as a mediocre SRH team failed to qualify for the playoffs. In November, Poulin resigned as his captain at Whiteball in the West Indies after abruptly dismissing his Cup from his T20 Worlds, and his army of oranges made him a mini player in his auction.
