IPL PREDICTION 2022: Our most successful auction to date; now it’s up to the players and coaches to win us the IPL Ness Wadia, co-owner of PBKS

Wadia explained that getting the appropriate team is half the battle.Punjab Kings co-owner Ness Wadia has praised the franchise’s think tank and management, describing the blockbuster auction for the 2022 Indian Premier League (IPL) as their most successful since the league’s start in 2008. Wadia has now placed the onus on franchise head coach Anil Kumble and the players to deliver at the tournament and win the trophy for the first time in franchise history.

With INR 72 crore in their pocket, PBKS had the largest purse of the nine teams. Only two players were selected in the draught, Indian opener Mayank Agarwal (INR 14 crore) and uncapped pacer Arshdeep Singh (INR 4 crore).PBKS were not afraid to spend huge money on players like Liam Livingstone (INR 11.5 crore), Kagiso Rabada (INR 9.25 crore), Shahrukh Khan (INR 9 crore), Shikhar Dhawan (INR 8.25 crore), and Odean Smith (INR 8.25 crore) (INR 6 crore).

At the very least, a top-four finish is required: Wadia, Ness

“Getting the appropriate team is half the battle, and that’s what we’ve done.” Now it’s up to the players, as well as coaches Anil (Kumble), Jonty (Rhodes), and Damien (Wright), to get us that elusive title we’ve been waiting for,” Wadia told Hindustan Times. “Or at the very least, a spot in the top four play-offs, because we’ve had a rough run the last four or five years.”
“We now have a well-balanced group.” We bat all the way down to eight or nine wickets and have bowlers who can bowl both early and late. Since the inaugural edition in 2008, I would say this was the toughest and most successful auction for us,” Wadia asserted
