Team India has landed in Thiruvananthapuram to begin their limited-overs trip against South Africa after winning the series in Hyderabad. The Men in Blue’s last task before the T20 World Cup will be three T20 International matches. The only players on Rohit Sharma’s roster who are rested are Hardik Pandya and Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

Rohit Sharma and company have arrived in Thiruvananthapuram for the start of their three-match series against South Africa, less than 24 hours after India defeated Australia in the series final. The Men in Blue will probably rest on Monday before hitting the practise fields the day before the match.

As Rohit Sharma and company arrived at the stadium from the airport, crowds of fans flooded the streets. After the hometown hero Sanju Samson was left off of the T20 World Cup roster, many people started chanting his name.

Samson is a well-known character in Indian cricket and a favourite of the supporters, particularly in Kerala. Local supporters are preparing to protest the BCCI in response to Sanju Samson’s exclusion from India’s T20 World Cup team. Samson, who has a big local following in Kerala, will wear T-Shirts with Samson’s images on September 28 during India vs. South Africa’s first Twenty20 match at the Greenfield Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram.

Except for Hardik Pandya and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, the majority of the team has already arrived in Kerala. Before setting ship for Australia, the pair has been to the NCA in Bangalore to perform some conditioning training.

Arshdeep Singh, who spent time at the NCA during the India vs. Australia series, will join the squad in the meanwhile. After missing the Australia series due to COVID-19, there are still concerns over Mohammed Shami’s availability.

India’s last leg of T20 World Cup preparations begins with the South Africa series. The three-game set will provide the management one more opportunity to experiment with various lineups before they go for Australia.
