IPL TOSS BHAVISHYAVANI : KL Rahul dethrones Virat Kohli as the first Indian batsman to cross 5000 T20 runs.

Despite losing, KL Rahul broke one of Virat Kohli’s records during Punjab Kings’ (PBKS) match against SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Wednesday in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 season. In just 143 innings, the wicketkeeper-batsman became the fastest Indian to cross 5000 T20 runs, while Kohli took 167 innings. Before the match, Rahul only needed one run to cross the milestone, but he could only muster four off six deliveries before falling to Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

Punjab’s batting collapse was part of a huge batting collapse, as they could only set SRH a target of 121 runs.

Mayank Agarwal (22) and Shahrukh Khan (22) were the only prominent contributors, with Khaleel Ahmed and Abhishek Sharma putting pressure on PBKS. For SRH, the former took three wickets, while the latter had two dismissals.

With Jonny Bairstow smashing an unbeaten 63 runs off 56 deliveries, SRH cruised to 121 for one wicket in 18.4 overs. David Warner, the captain, also made 37 points in 37 balls for his team.

After three losses in a row, this was SRH’s first victory of the season. PBKS, on the other hand, suffered their third loss of the season.

Rahul, who has 2808 runs in the IPL, will look to reclaim his form in Punjab’s upcoming match against Mumbai Indians (MI) on Friday. The defending champions are actually in fourth place in the standings and will be looking to continue their winning streak.
