In January 2019, Cricket South Africa appointed Jansen to the South Africa U-19 squad for the upcoming tour of India. In April 2019, he played his first T20 game for Knights in the 2018–19 CSA T20 Challenge. Marco was assigned to the Durban Heat squad in September 2019 to participate in the 2019 Mzansi Super League tournament. Jansen was appointed to Cricket South Africa’s national team for the upcoming tour of Pakistan in January 2021.

Marco was the most prolific bowler for North West in the 2018–19 CSA 3-Day Provincial Cup, taking 27 wickets in six games.
