Without a question, the Mumbai Indians are the most successful franchise in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The five-time IPL champions are widely considered to be one of the best T20 franchise teams in the world.

When the IPL 2020 champions failed to qualify for the Playoffs in the 2021 season, it came as a huge shock. In the IPL 2022 season, the Rohit Sharma-led team will try to fix that aberration and return to their title-winning ways.

MI retained four players ahead of the IPL 2022 big auction: Rohit Sharma (Rs 16 crore), Jasprit Bumrah (Rs 12 crore), Suryakumar Yadav (Rs 8 crore), and Kieron Pollard (Rs 8 crore) (Rs 6 crore).
Reliance Industries, India’s largest conglomerate, owns the team through its 100 percent subsidiary IndiaWin Sports, which was founded in 2008. The BCCI sold MI to RIL for $111.9 million in 2007, making it the most expensive franchise in the IPL’s early years. MI has won the title in 2011, 2013, 2017, and 2019, with the exception of the 2020 season. MI’s final list of players purchased in the IPL 2022 auction is as follows:

Ishan Kishan (India batter-wk) is paid Rs 15.25 crore, Dewald Brevis (South African batter) is paid Rs 3 crore, Sanjay Yadav (India allrounder) is paid Rs 50 lakh, Ramandeep Singh (India allrounder) is paid Rs 20 lakh, Mayank Markande (India spinner) is paid Rs 65 lakh, Aryan Juwal (India batter-wk) is paid Rs 20 lakh, Arjun Tendulkar (India all Anmolpreet Singh (India batter) is worth Rs 20 lakh, Tim David (Singapore allrounder) is worth Rs 8.25 crore, and Riley Meredith (Australia pacer) is worth Rs 1 crore.
