The IPL 2024 auction is set to take place at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai on December 19, marking the first time the event will be held overseas. The initial list of 1166 players has been narrowed down to 333 names.

Of the shortlisted players, 214 are Indian, and 119 are overseas players, including two from associate nations. The final auction list includes 116 capped players, 215 uncapped players, and two players from associate nations.

A total of 77 slots are available to the 10 franchises, with up to 30 slots allocated for overseas players. The highest reserve price is ₹2 crore, with 23 players listed in this category. Additionally, 13 players in the auction list have a base price of ₹1.5 crore.

Australian cricketers feature prominently in the auction, with 21 players from the 2023 ODI World Cup-winning squad registering. Seven of them, including Travis Head, Steven Smith, Pat Cummins, Josh Inglis, Josh Hazlewood, Mitchell Starc, and Sean Abbott, have set their base price at ₹2 crore.

Travis Head, who played a crucial role in Australia’s World Cup triumph, missed initial league games due to injury but was named Player of the Match in the semi-final and final. Other notable Australian players in the auction include Daniel Sams, Jhye Richardson, Ashton Turner, Ashton Agar, Riley Meredith, Ben Cutting, and more.
