Today cricbuzz prediction: Blair Tickner replaces ‘underprepared’ Milne on ODI team

Blair Tickner has replaced Adam Milne in the ODI’s New Zealand squad for Pakistan and India.

Milne ended the series against India with a hamstring strain, then missed his trophy game against his two Fords for the Wellington Firebirds. Even though he returned for two of his Super Smash matches in December, the prospect of him making six of his ODI matches in 16 days was deemed too risky.

As such, it was mutually agreed to replace Milne with Tickner from Central Stags. Tickner is already in Pakistan with his test team. Chief Selector Gavin Larsen said, “Adam has been very candid with us about the lack of daily bowling volume on the upcoming Tour.” Agreed that his preparations for the 2016 ODI Series alone were not enough to handle the demands of three straight games of the ODI series.

“I appreciate his honesty and genuine desire not to let the team down. With Blair’s skill in middle bowling and his ability to hit the court hard, he has potential similar to what Adam offered us. The fact that he is already in Pakistan and has been through that situation is an added bonus.”

His ODI team in New Zealand headed to Pakistan on 4 January, played all three of his matches in Karachi on 9, 11 and 13 January, and his ODI team in India on 18, 21 and 24 January. Head to ODI.
