Zimbabwe has called up Chamu Chibhabha, 36, and Brandon Mavuta, 25, into a 15-man squad for a three-game ODI series against Ireland.
Former captain Chibhabha, who was last capped in Zimbabwe in November 2020, is back with impressive results in the Pro50 Championship, including his 119-ball 155* in the Eagles vs. Mountaineers. Legspinner Brandon Mavuta has also had success at nationals, and he last played the format in April 2019, so he could add another ODI cap.
All-rounder Sikander Raza also joined the squad after missing his T20I stage to play for Dubai his Capitals in the International League T20. Veteran Sean Williams was sidelined in his second T20I with a broken right finger. There is also an update on Gary Balance, who has missed several games against Ireland due to a concussion. Balance, Zimbabwe Cricket said he was “energized again after being included in the team and ready to make his ODI arc for his country of birth.”
