New Zealand’s Adam Milne retires from India, Pakistan series
New Zealand Cricket (NZC) has confirmed that Pacer Adam He Milne has withdrawn from his ODI squad for the upcoming series against Pakistan and India over concerns over his preparation.
The pacemaker on the right was therefore replaced by Blair Tickner of Kiwitest his team, who is already in Pakistan.
Milne made a late return to home club Wellington Firebirds after suffering a hamstring injury in the home series against India last November, but missed two Ford Trophy games in December.
“The Firebirds played his first two games of the Dream11 Super Smash season, but the prospect of his six ODIs in 16 days in Pakistan and India seemed too risky. has been done,” he said in a statement from NZC.
“Adam has been very candid with us about how he’s missing a day’s worth of bowling on the upcoming tour. We appreciate his honesty and genuine desire to not let the team down,” said Blackcap selector Gavin Larsen.
Milne will continue to play for the Wellington Firebirds if available for the rest of the summer at home.
The Blackcaps ODI players will leave New Zealand for Pakistan on January 4th.
His whiteball series against India began on January 18th and will run until February 1st. The series consists of three of his ODIs and an equal number of his T20Is.
