Suryakumar Yadav scored his second-fastest T20I century for India, scoring 45 balls in Saturday’s series deciding match against Sri Lanka in Rajkot.
Indian batsman Suryakumar Yadav made his T20I century for the third time in Saturday’s third game against Sri Lanka at Rajkot.
Suryakumar hit tons with 45 balls in his PowerPlay after he went to bat with 52 for two. Suryakumar dominated for his third wicket with Shubman Gill with a 111-run stand, the latter he was dismissed for 46 after just 34 balls he added 77 runs.
The 32-year-old then crossed his 100-run mark in singles on the 19th. He went unbeaten from just 51 to 112 balls, finishing with 7 4 and 9 6, while India posted a disappointing 228/5 in 20 overs.
Suryakumar, who had a sensational run as his top scorer in 2022 (his 1164 in 31 innings), scored his first ever T20I run against England in Nottingham last July. hit the
Suryakumar then went undefeated 111 of 51 on his limited overs tour to New Zealand last November.
Suryakumar is one of his five hitters with his T20I century over three centuries. Rohit Sharma tops the list with his four centuries, followed by Suryakumar, Glenn Maxwell (3), Colin Munro (3) and Sabawoon Davizi (3). Suryakumar also joins Maxwell as the only hitter to complete the T20I century in three different countries.
Surya’s Tong is his second fastest for an Indian player, second only to Sharma’s Rohit who faced the same opponent in Indore in 2017 with his 35 balls in his Century.
