Sourav Ganguly, the outgoing president of the BCCI, is still involved in management. Ganguly will run for office in the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB). Although Abhishek Dalmiya is the current president, his first three-year term will end in 2023. Ganguly will run for CAB President the next year.
However, since he held the position of President from 2015 to 2019, Ganguly is only eligible to serve for three years at the CAB. Since Ganguly became BCCI President in 2020, Abhishek Dalmiya, the son of former BCCI chairman Jagmohan Dalmiya, has held the position. However, Abhishek Dalmiya will have to resign from his position and enter a cooling-off period since he previously held the position of joint secretary.
Even though he wanted to serve as BCCI President for a further three years, the former India captain was compelled to resign. Despite several explanations from Treasurer Arun Dhumal, Ganguly’s maiden game for the BCCI was cut short after N Srinivasan criticized his lack of effort. Brijesh Patel was nearly given the chair by Srinivasan, but the situation was reversed at the last second when Ganguly was named president.

Regarding the board changes, Jay Shah will continue to serve as the BCCI Secretary. All office holders from various organizations from around the nation submitted nominations for various seats on the board during a BCCI meeting held on Tuesday at the Trident Hotel in Mumbai.
