who will win IPL 2024 : CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan Unveils Dhoni’s Preparation Strategy for IPL 2024 Amidst Questions About Captain’s Future

With a little over three months remaining until the commencement of the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) season, the looming uncertainty about MS Dhoni’s potential retirement continues to captivate cricket enthusiasts, particularly those supporting the Chennai Super Kings. During the launch of the Junior Super Kings event in Chennai last Saturday, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan faced direct inquiries regarding the speculations but opted to maintain a tight-lipped stance, deferring the responsibility of addressing the matter to the skipper.

“I cannot confirm that. Regarding the captain, he will provide you with a direct answer. He doesn’t share his future plans with us,” stated Viswanathan.

Nevertheless, Viswanathan did shed light on Dhoni’s return to training ahead of IPL 2024. After undergoing knee surgery post the 2023 IPL season, Dhoni appears to be on a solid recovery path, with the CEO disclosing that the captain has commenced gym sessions and is slated to hit the nets in the first week of January.

“He is progressing well. His rehabilitation has started, and he has resumed gym workouts. In approximately ten days, he will also resume net practice,” added the CEO.

In anticipation of the IPL 2024 season, tentatively scheduled to commence on March 22, the defending champions, Chennai Super Kings, are gearing up for their preparatory camp from the first week of March, as per Viswanathan.

“We are planning to start our camp around the first week of March. The IPL season is expected to kick off on the 22nd of March. Therefore, our initial camp will take place in Chennai during the first week,” he stated.

Following the recent mini-auction in Dubai, where Chennai secured six players, including Shardul Thakur, Rachin Ravindra, Daryl Mitchell, Sameer Rizvi, Mustafizur Rahman, and Avanish Rao Aravelly, Viswanathan expressed satisfaction with their acquisitions.

“We successfully attained our desired targets. Daryl Mitchell was in our plans, and we believed Mustafizur Rahman would be a valuable asset at our Chepauk venue due to the side boundary. These were our considerations, but we weren’t certain about securing them. Fortunately, it was a fruitful auction for us this time,” remarked Viswanathan.
