During the first Test against Pakistan, Australian bowler Nathan Lyon set an unfavourable record. The off-spinner became the first bowler to be hammered for 250 sixes in Test cricket history.
On Day 5 of the Rawalpindi Test, which finished in a boring draw, the record was set. On the penultimate ball of Pakistan’s second innings, Imam-ul-Haq took on Lyon and lofted him over the long-on boundary.
After Lyon, Sri Lankan spin maestro Rangana Herath has the highest amount of sixes conceded with 194.

Lyon played a lacklustre game on a wicket that offered nothing to the bowlers. Pakistan scored 728 runs on the flat surface while only losing two wickets, including an undefeated 252-run opening partnership in the second innings.
After scoring 476/4 in the first innings, with to centuries from Imam-ul-Haq and Azhar Ali, Pakistan restricted Australia to 259, gaining a meagre 17-run advantage.
It didn’t matter, however, since there were just a few overs remaining, so Pakistan’s openers opted to put on a batting display on a belter of a track.
Imam and Abdullah Shafique both batted for hundreds, with the former scoring his second of the game and winning Player of the Match. On the WTC points table, Australia and Pakistan are tied for top and second position with four points apiece.
