The ICC withdrew penalty points awarded to Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium for below-average pitching in a test match between Pakistan and England last December.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Najam Sethi said he had written a strong letter challenging the ICC’s decision to award Pindi Stadium a negative point.
“As soon as I became president, we wrote a long and strong letter to the ICC outlining the records of other venues and objecting to why Pindi Stadium should be given negative points even with the result of the match in question. I wrote,” Sethi told Lahore Media.
“I am pleased to report that the ICC has accepted our view and withdrawn the negative points.” I won the test.
The ICC also gave Pindi Stadium a minus point after a high-scoring friendly between Pakistan and Australia last March.
