Eoin Joseph Gerard Morgan, or Eoin Morgan as he is more commonly known, is a professional cricketer who currently represents England on the international stage.

Domestic Career

Morgan, who was just 20 years old at the time, joined Middlesex in 2006. Two years later, on 5 July 2008 at Uxbridge, he scored his first first-class century for Middlesex off 250 balls. Morgan also played a vital part in Middlesex’s Twenty20 Cup win in 2008. Morgan displayed his leadership qualities by leading Middlesex to a County Championship win over Kent.

IPL Career

Morgan debuted in the Indian Premier League in the 2010 season (IPL). Royal Challengers Bangalore purchased him at auction for a whopping amount of $220,000. Morgan, on the other hand, struggled to impress in the few chances he was given. The next year, he was re-added to the auction pool and purchased for $350,000 by the Kolkata Knight Riders.

Morgan was unable to participate in the IPL 2014 due to diplomatic obligations against Sri Lanka. After that, he signed with Sunrisers Hyderabad for just $150,000. He was sold to Kings XI Punjab for Rs. 2 crore in the 2017 IPL Auctions.

Morgan began his international career with the National Cricket Team of Ireland. On August 5, 2006, he made his One Day International debut for Ireland against Scotland. Morgan was named to Ireland’s World Cup-bound 15-man squad in 2007.
