Javeria Khan, a brilliant all-rounder and the team’s captain, has long been a cornerstone of Pakistan Women’s Cricket. When she was barely 17 years old, her love for cricket led to her selection for the local Karachi Women’s squad in 2006.

The Karachi-born all-rounder made a brilliant 41-ball 43 in the final against the PCB Challengers in 2008, leading to her selection in the Pakistani national squad, after a number of pivotal hits like the one in the final of the PCB Twenty20 Women’s Quadrangular Tournament. On May 6, 2008, she made her ODI debut against the Sri Lanka Women’s squad, where she struggled with both the bat and the ball. She scored a respectable 20 runs with the bat in her second ODI encounter against India but failed to take a wicket.

The Pakistani squad that won the gold medal at the 2010 Asian Games in China included the current captain. After making her debut seven years before, Javeria hit her first century in an ODI against Sri Lanka. Her side won the match thanks to an incredible innings of 133 runs without being out, which also earned her the Player of the Match honor.

In a match against Bangladesh in November 2019, Javeria became the third cricketer from Pakistan to play in 100 ODIs.

Javeria is the most seasoned player in the current Pakistan lineup, having led the Women in Green in two T20 World Cups and the Asia Cup. At the youthful age of 19, she donned the Green jersey and quickly established herself as a backbone of the batting team.
